Louisville Folk School's mission is connecting the deep roots of Kentucky's music traditions with its promising and lively future through lessons, performances, and a supportive community.

Our classes meet at Clifton Center in the heart of the Clifton Neighborhood. Most of our classes are scheduled for 8-weeks sessions in small groups and cost $180 per session. An early-bird discount of 10% is offered prior to each session..

The curriculum is designed to encourage each student to master the skills taught at each individual class level. Folk School instructors will help guide their students as to which next class would be best for them. Students are encouraged to stay in a class until their skill level is appropriate for the next class level. It can be very beneficial to take a particular class more than once to ensure a solid foundation before moving on to the next level

PARKING AND DIRECTIONS

Our classes meet at the Clifton Center, located near the intersection of Frankfort Ave and S Clifton Ave. Free parking for Louisville Folk School students is accessible by Payne Street in the lot on the west side of Clifton Center, across from the community garden.

CANCELLATIONS

Louisville Folk School reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient registration. Our group classes are an excellent value and are designed to strengthen the community by connecting students to folks with similar interests, however, we need a minimum of four students in each class for the class to be financially sustainable - please invite your friends to enroll in a class with you! Classes without sufficient registration at the end of the first class will be cancelled and you may be issued a refund or school credit, but, we would love to help you to find an alternate class to join.

In case of inclement weather, please check LouisvilleFolkSchool.org or our Facebook page for cancellations.
