About The School

Louisville Folk School is a 501C3 nonprofit with a mission to engage the folk music traditions of Kentuckians through education and performance, build on the rich cultural history of the bluegrass state, while creating community through the arts.

Our classes meet in the heart of the Clifton Neighborhood - 225 N Clifton Ave, Suite 4, Louisville, Ky 40206. Most of our classes are scheduled for 8-weeks sessions in small groups and cost $180 per session. LFS members receive a 10% discount on classes and workshops.

The curriculum is designed to encourage each student to master the skills taught at each individual class level. Folk School instructors will help guide their students as to which next class would be best for them. Students are encouraged to stay in a class until their skill level is appropriate for the next class level. It can be beneficial to take a particular class more than once to ensure a solid foundation before moving on to the next level

CANCELLATIONS

Louisville Folk School reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient registration. Our group classes are an excellent value and are designed to strengthen the community by connecting students to folks with similar interests, however, we need a minimum of four students in each class for the class to be financially sustainable - please invite your friends to enroll in a class with you! Classes without sufficient registration at the end of the first class will be cancelled and you may be issued a refund or school credit, but, we would love to help you to find an alternate class to join.

In case of inclement weather, please check LouisvilleFolkSchool.org or our Facebook page for cancellations.
