S. Montana Hobbs (she/her/hers) hails from Lee County, Kentucky. A graduate of Morehead State University’s Kentucky Center of Traditional Music, Hobbs became the first woman in school’s history to earn the Bachelor of Arts in Traditional Music, alongside her bandmate, Linda Jean Stokley. Actively touring since college, Hobbs has self produced and released two full length albums and performed in over 10 countries with her band, The Local Honeys. With mentors like Sarah Wood, Will Parsons, Jesse Wells and John Haywood, she has developed a style unique to her that pays homage to the traditions of eastern Kentucky banjo and the continuation of traditional music in the modern age.
