 My Pet Song is an ongoing class focusing on ear training, melodic mutation, harmonic inventions, and rhythmic empathy by focusing on one single jazz standard for eight weeks.  We start by learning the simplest version we can, then unfold through variations and complications as the weeks continue.  Open to singers and players of all chromatic instruments, this class will touch on the nashville number system, shell chord construction and upper extensions (the weird sounds that make jazz so brain ticklish), song form, phrasing, how to play in a group, and most of all, musicality!
