Statement regarding COVID-19 impact on our Spring Session of Group Classes.
The safety of staff, students, and our community is of top importance to us here at Louisville Folk School. To do our part in preventing the spread of the novel COVID-19 virus, we are observing the federal, state, and CDC recommended guidelines and strongly encourage our students to do so as well.
As a precautionary measure, we are moving all of our classes and lessons online via Zoom/Skype/FaceTime/Google Duo.
Our spring session of group classes will begin with the weekend classes on April 4 and 5, and the weeknight classes will begin the week of April 6. The spring group class session will be altered so that each class meets seven times, and for many of these classes we will be able to extend the meeting times so that total teaching time is equivalent to our usual eight week class. We will be updating the start times on each class listed on our website over the next few hours, and are continuing to enroll in our spring session of classes.
We at Louisville Folk School hope, as I believe all of us in the community do, that these grand gestures to support the health of our community will be successful and that all will turn towards mostly normal very soon. Louisville Folk School is dedicated to our mission of building community here in this great city, and does not plan to move our classes online long-term.
