Country Duets Repertoire
COUNTRY DUETS REPERTOIRE with Bobby Winstead
This class will meet online - an invitation to a recurring Zoom meeting will be sent by the instructor in advance of the first class meeting.
In this class we will learn songs in 2-part harmony, emulating the great duet singing that characterized much of early country and bluegrass since the Carter Family days. Groups such as the Delmore Brothers, Louvin Brothers, Davis Sisters, George and Melba, Dolly and Porter, and the great Stanley Brothers, to name a few. We'll break down the two parts of each song, practice singing unison vs. harmony, and learn some great repertoire.
Students will need access to a computer with Zoom, including a microphone and a camera. Short video assignments will be used each week to allow the instructor to give individual attention to each student. A Google Classroom page will be available to students to receive materials from the teacher, communicate throughout the week, and keep track of assignments.
Open to all voice types, no instrument necessary, but stringed instruments are also welcome. Looking forward to singing duets with you!
