Flatpicking Fiddle Tunes with Haley Shields

note: there is no class on Tuesday, June 24th

Learn how to play half a dozen old-time fiddle tunes on guitar! Though the focus will be on picking melodies for each tune, we will also cover how to back up each tune with chords. Our repertoire will include "Arkansas Traveler," "Bill Cheatum," "Liberty," and "Sally Goodin."

Students will learn:

Six fiddle tunes: melody & chords
Jam etiquette
How to improve their flatpicking skills

Prerequisites:
Guitar 3, or comfort with:

Open position major, minor, and dominant chords
F Chord
Reading tablature
Multiple strumming patterns
Alternating picking

This is an adult class open to students aged 13 and up.
