Tut Taylor was one of the most unique and unorthodox dobro players. He held the bar wrong and he played with a flat pick, but that didn’t stop him from making great music. His long standing collaborations with Clarence White, Norman Blake and John Hartford produced an wealth of classic dobro recordings. In this class we’ll dig deep into Tut’s music, from his originals to his takes on bluegrass, blues and country. When it comes to down home front porch dobro picking Tut has no rival. This is an intermediate class. Students should have a knowledge of open G tuning and experience using fingerpicks.
