Instructor: Dave Howard

Dave Howard is the Executive Director of the Louisville Folk School, a traditional music education community he founded in 2015. He has dedicated himself to fostering a love for folk music and creating a vibrant musical community.

Dave has recorded and performed for over two decades with dozens of groups, including The 23 String Band, winners of the 2011 Rockygrass Bluegrass Band Competition, the Louisville-based Relic Bluegrass band, and artist Bonnie "Prince" Billy.

In 2020, Dave was honored to be selected for the prestigious IBMA Leadership Bluegrass class. His passion for traditional music led him to apprentice as a fiddler through a Kentucky Arts Council Masters Apprenticeship Grant for Folk Arts.

Dave holds a bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of Louisville and is a proud Kentucky Colonel.
