Instructor: Jenny Morse
Jenny Morse grew up playing classical piano and singing in stellar choral ensembles thanks to directors Steven Hendricks and the late Nancy Albrink. After working various sundry jobs in San Francisco and Providence, Jenny came back to Louisville, where she enjoyed teaching English as a Second Language to adult refugees for many years. In 2015, she started taking ukulele classes at the Louisville Folk School on a whim and quickly got hooked on the local jamming scene, where she eventually made the natural switch from ukulele to upright bass.
Jenny loves playing bass, ukulele, guitar, piano, kazoo, whistling, and singing most of all. She currently plays bass and sings in Black Dog String Band but played bass with Millers Folly for several years. Jenny takes inspiration from Hazel Dickens, Gillian Welch, Eilen Jewell, Aimee Mann, Josh Ritter, Victor Wooten, and her children, who have written more songs than she has.
