Instructor: Liz Bowman

Liz has been enjoying teaching music since she was a sophomore college student at the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Traditional Music with a focus in mandolin and voice. She is grateful to have been selected to be a member of the touring Mountain Music Ambassadors band. After graduating from the KCTM at Morehead State University, she began teaching private music lessons and continued touring with the Michelle Canning Band and as a solo artist. Born and raised in Morehead, Kentucky, she moved to Louisville in late summer of 2026 and is so looking forward to learning and sharing music with the folks here! Her traditional music repertoire includes, but isn't limited to, Celtic, folk, old time, bluegrass, and some traditional Hungarian music, thanks to the exchange student friends she made through the KCTM. While traditional music has her heart, it's not uncommon to find some Joan Jett in the same playlist as a shape note hymn in her phone. Liz teaches guitar, mandolin, ukulele, upright bass, and singing to students of all ages!
