Instructor: Matt Brown

Matt Brown is the education coordinator at the Louisville Folk School. He has recorded with Tim O'Brien, performed on the Grand Ole Opry, and mentored Robert Plant's banjo player. Matt produced 10 albums, including On Big Shoulders, an all-star tribute to Chicago that culminated in a collaboration with Chess Records legend Barbara Carr. He spent seven years in The Windy City teaching music to adults and kids at the Old Town School of Folk Music. Now, he teaches online fiddle and banjo private lessons to students worldwide. Matt is the author of the tablature book Thumb Lead Two-Finger Banjo. Matt's mentors include Linda Litwin, Rick Amoroso, Bruce Molsky, Brad Leftwich, Paul Brown, Ginny Hawker, Tracy Schwarz, Rayna Gellert, Dennis Cahill, and Bruce Greene.
