This class will meet at Waldorf School of Louisville - 3110 Rock Creek Dr, Louisville, KY 40207
African Music Ensemble is a mixed-level class. We will work on the advanced drum pieces from African drum classes and build a cohesive group sound, including faster tempos. We will work towards performance-level skills and tempos. There will be parts for everyone because each piece has simple and complex parts. We will also learn songs that accompany the drum pieces.
Singers are encouraged. We will learn about call and response and harmony within the tradition.
It is preferable to have taken some traditional African drumming classes, but all are welcome in this mixed-level class.
