Bluegrass Repertoire with Chris Brandstatt
In this class, you will learn songs that you can call at your next bluegrass jam! You'll learn repertoire from Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers, Flatt & Scruggs, Del McCoury, Larry Sparks, Billy Strings, and Molly Tuttle. You'll also get a basic primer on jam session etiquette and how it may differ from other types of social music gatherings.
This class is for all of the bluegrass instruments: fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, Dobro, and upright bass, and the focus will be on learning to sing and play as many songs as we can comfortably cover. You'll get the most out of this class if you can confidently play in the following keys on your instrument: G, C, D, & A. Guitar and banjo players, please bring a capo to class each week.
This is an adult class open to students aged 13 and up.
