Amp up your blues harp playing in Blues Harmonica with Jake Groves. Classes will delve into honing your bending abilities, playing different blues grooves, learning blues harmonica history, discussing amplified versus acoustic harmonica, and improvising your own blues licks. Classic blues harmonica repertoire will help guide our learning, with plans to look at tunes such as "Juke" by Little Walter, "Got Love If You Want It" by Slim Harpo, and "I'm a Man" by Bo Diddley, plus more tunes by other blues harmonica masters. Students will be expected to have taken Harmonica 1 or private lessons with Jake. If not, you can reach out to him beforehand and get the okay to take the class.
This is an adult class open to students aged 13 and up.
