Exploring Vocal Styles with Juliana Rodriguez
Exploring Vocal Styles is an eight-week group vocal course designed to introduce singers to the unique techniques and artistry behind a variety of music genres. A music genre is a category of music defined by its distinctive sound, history, performance style, and vocal approach. Throughout the course, participants will explore genres including Opera, Pop & R&B, Rock, Jazz & Blues, Country & Folk, and Musical Theatre, while analyzing the vocal styles of some of each genre's most influential artists.
Each genre requires a unique set of vocal skills and expressive techniques. Students will learn the fundamentals of techniques such as belting, twang, vocal flips, riffs and runs, breath control, resonance, and stylistic interpretation. Weekly sessions will include guided vocal exercises, technique development, and repertoire selected to reinforce the skills introduced in class. By the end of the course, participants will have a stronger understanding of how to adapt their voices across different musical styles while building confidence, versatility, and healthy vocal habits.

This is an adult class open to instrumentalists and singers aged 15 and up.
