Louisville Folk Choir with Julia Purcell

The LFS Folk Choir is a newly forming group of people who love to sing traditional folk and Appalachian Gospel songs. Most of our learning will be done aurally (without written music). Our repertoire will include both sacred and secular folk songs from the Greater Appalachian region. Songs will be sung mostly a capella and arranged in multiple-part harmonies. There is an opportunity for some instrumental accompaniment.
We will have at least one gig/performance during the semester.
This class is best suited for singers who have taken at least one of Julia's group classes before.
This is an adult class open to students aged 13 and up.
