Making Sense of Making Stuff Up

Hi, it’s always nice to meet an improviser.  If you read that, you’re already an improviser, and I’d love to hang with you.  Come along for eight weeks of pressure free, non judgmental, open ended inventions.  Our ears will be our guides as we make our way through games, tricks, and puzzles.

You don’t need a song to improvise.  You don’t need a tune.  Or a key.  Or to know the notes of your instrument.  All you need is the will, and attention.  

If you are among the willing, we have eight weeks of games to sharpen your musical attention, focus your creative intention, and send you off in a more musically liberated direction.  If you ever sit down and think, “here we are again, what should I play?”  You might find some of these practices useful, or at least fun.

This class is for everyone interested in making it up as you go along, by yourself or with others.  

This is an adult class open to students aged 13 and up.
