Pop Choir with Kyle McCammon
Singing in a group brings people joy! The Louisville Folk School Pop Choir is for people who love to sing timeless popular songs. This is a repertoire-based class, meaning the focus will be on learning and perfecting specific songs. Our goal for this first session will be to learn and polish two or three recognizable songs: “Don’t Stop Believing,” “Rocket Man,” and “Sound of Silence." We will use prepared choral music to sing in two-, three-, and even four-part harmony. Meetings will feature warm-ups, sectionals (focusing on specific parts and sections of music), and workshopping. Choir is fun, fast-paced, and invigorating.
Our long-term goal for this group is to have a full SATB choir (four-part harmony with sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses divided by section) that sings at our student showcases and possibly elsewhere in the community. Tell your friends to join you- the more, the merrier!
This is an adult class open to students aged 13 and up.
