Singing the Carter Family with Julia Purcell
Note: this class begins on March 28th
During this 7-week course, we will learn 8-12 Carter Family songs, including classics like “Wildwood Flower” and “Will The Circle be Unbroken”, as well as lesser-known songs from the Carter catalog. Classes will consist of listening to recordings, learning history, arranging, singing, and playing.
This course is designed for those who have previous experience singing and are comfortable singing in a small group, dyads, and sometimes solo. Instrumental competence is not necessary for this course. However, if you do play an instrument, you are encouraged to bring it.
This is an adult class open to students aged 15 and up.
