Honing Your Dulcimer Skills Workshop with Molly McCormack

This workshop is for mountain dulcimer players who wish to build confidence and greater proficiency when playing at jams and with other instruments in an ensemble. The repertoire will be familiar fiddle tunes you might hear in most dulcimer jams, and students will be invited to suggest repertoire. Students may sign up for one or both meetings of this workshop. Different repertoire will be shared for each workshop.
You will:
- Improve your fretted hand fingering for melodies
- Learn optimal fingering for 2 and 3 fingered chords
- Strengthen rhythmic strum
- Improve flat picking
- Practice learning melodies by ear
Prerequisite: Mountain Dulcimer 1
This workshop is appropriate for individuals 15 years and up
